Turkey Stock Market Update

Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Banking, and Financials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.27% to hit a new 6-month low.

Top Performers

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were:
Europower Enerji ve Otomasyon Teknolojileri Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:EUPWR): rose 4.82% or 3.80 points to trade at 82.70 at the close.
Turkiye Sigorta AS (IS:TURSG): added 3.66% or 0.42 points to end at 11.90.
Papilon Savunma Guvenlik Sistemleri (IS:PAPIL): was up 3.09% or 2.45 points to 81.75 in late trade.

Bottom Performers

The worst performers of the session were:
Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL): fell 9.49% or 2.14 points to trade at 20.42 at the close.
Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA): declined 7.79% or 4.75 points to end at 56.25.
Emlak Konut Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:EKGYO): down 7.32% or 0.78 points to 9.87.

Market Overview

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 286 to 261, with 30 ending unchanged.

Commodities

  • Gold Futures for December delivery were up 0.13% or 3.60, reaching $2,673.30 a troy ounce.
  • Crude oil for delivery in November rose 4.02% or 2.82 to hit $72.92 a barrel.
  • Brent oil contract for December rose 3.78% or 2.79 to trade at $76.69 a barrel.

Currency Exchange

  • USD/TRY was down 0.02% to 34.18.
  • EUR/TRY fell 0.40% to 37.64.

U.S. Dollar Index

The U.S. Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 101.80.
