Trump’s Tariff Proposal

(Reuters) – Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he intends to impose a 100% tariff on all cars entering the United States from Mexico if he wins the November 5 election against Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris.

“We will put a 100% tariff on every single car coming across the Mexican border,” Trump stated during a speech in Georgia. He further explained that the only way to eliminate the tariff would be for companies to build a plant in the United States, operated by American workers.
