Gunzilla Games Unveils GUNZ Network and GUN Token Launch

Off the Grid creator Gunzilla Games will debut its Avalanche L1 blockchain GUNZ Network and its native GUN token on March 31, maintaining its earlier Q1 2025 launch estimate.

Alongside the network launch, the chain’s native gas token GUN will be immediately tradable on Binance with a seed tag applied, indicating that it originates from an “innovative project” and might face increased volatility and risk.

GUN will have a total supply of 10 billion tokens, with 400 million or 4% allocated for rewards for token stakers via Binance Launchpool.

The GUNZ Network launch follows Gunzilla Games’ partnership with investment firm Delphi Ventures just three months prior, to help establish the GUNZ Foundation—a nonprofit responsible for overseeing the network launch and its token.

In light of the late-month announcement, prediction market odds on MYRIAD quickly shifted. Initially, at 7:00 AM ET on Thursday, the odds stood at nearly 75% in favor of “No”, but by 10:00 AM ET, they flipped to 73% “Yes”, following the news. However, skepticism persists, with only 43% of MYRIAD users currently believing the launch will proceed as planned.

Once the mainnet is live, players will be able to freely trade in-game assets such as weapons and skins, as well as the GUN token.

Before the mainnet, players engaged with the GUNZ testnet, earning GUN tokens and in-game items through gameplay in the battle royale shooter. GUN token balances from the testnet are expected to reset upon mainnet launch, though unique assets will remain.

While awaiting the mainnet, some users have started trading assets in unofficial “black markets”, selling rare items for thousands of dollars. Soon, these transactions will be officially supported.

Gunzilla Games’ Off the Grid, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X, gained attention during its early access launch in October 2024, captivating gamers interested in crypto and beyond. The GUNZ network will also support other studios’ games, allowing for the GUN token to be utilized across various titles.

A representative for Gunzilla Games did not immediately respond to Decrypt’s request for comment.
