Norway's Sovereign Wealth Fund Acquires Office Property in Menlo Park
STOCKHOLM (Reuters) – Norway's sovereign wealth fund announced on Tuesday the acquisition of a 97.7% stake in an office property located in Menlo Park, part of the San Francisco Bay Area, for $217 million. This purchase is part of a joint venture with U.S. real estate investment firm DivcoWest.
Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), recognized as the world’s largest sovereign wealth fund, acquired the stake from a joint venture between Clarion Partners and Invesco Real Estate.
NBIM stated, "The asset is unencumbered by debt, and no financing was involved in the transaction." The valuation of the property is stated to be $222 million.
DivcoWest holds the remaining 2.3% of the property and is tasked with asset management for the joint venture on behalf of NBIM.
