(Reuters) – Kirk has developed into a substantial extratropical cyclone, continuing to produce significant swells and posing a rip current risk along the U.S. East Coast, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center on Monday.

Current Location

Kirk is situated approximately 655 miles (1,055 km) west-northwest of the Azores.

Wind Speeds

The cyclone boasts maximum sustained winds of 75 miles per hour (mph) (120 kph), as reported by the Miami-based forecaster.
