Mexico Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, with losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services, and Consumer Staples sectors leading shares down.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.69%.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were:
– Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q): rose 2.91% or 4.68 points to trade at 165.51 at the close.
– America Movil SAB de CV M (BMV:AMXB): added 2.37% or 0.35 points to end at 15.11.
– Alsea, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA): was up 1.92% or 0.85 points to 45.13 in late trade.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session were:
– Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA): fell 6.38% or 27.95 points to trade at 410.10.
– Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO): declined 3.98% or 5.62 points to end at 135.51.
– Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA): was down 3.87% or 0.99 points to 24.62.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 142 to 106, with 14 ending unchanged.
Commodities Update
- Gold Futures for February delivery were down 0.29% or 7.74 to $2,662.26 a troy ounce.
- Crude Oil for delivery in January fell 1.16% or 0.82 to hit $69.89 a barrel.
- The February Brent oil contract decreased by 0.73% or 0.54 to trade at $73.37 a barrel.
Currency Exchange
- USD/MXN was up 0.25% to 20.17.
- EUR/MXN rose 0.06% to 21.16.
The US Dollar Index Futures increased by 0.11% at 106.67.
