IRIS Network Mainnet 4.0 Upgrade Announcement

IRIS Network has officially announced on its X page that they are upgrading to Mainnet 4.0 on March 19, 2025, at approximately 06:00:00 UTC, at block height 29,186,000. The purpose of this upgrade is the introduction of a modular refactor. This modular refactor is meant to provide improved flexibility for developers as well as align IRISnet with the latest innovations in the Cosmos system.

Modular Refactor and Cosmos-SDK v0.50.11-lsm: Key Features of 4.0 Upgrade

The modular refactor is a major key factor of the IRISnet Mainnet 4.0 upgrade. Project teams will now be able to use these modules separately as required, eliminating the need to load all of IRISHub’s functionality thanks to the reorganization of some self-developed capabilities. This improvement will enhance customization, reduce bloating, and streamline team building on IRISnet.

Moreover, the integration of the latest Cosmos version with included LSM (Liquid Stake Module) support will ensure compatibility with the broader Cosmos system while optimizing performance and IBC (Inter-Blockchain Communications).

Upgrading Schedule of IRISnet Mainnet 4.0

The on-chain upgrade proposal was submitted to validators/delegators on March 14, 2025. The execution date decided for the Mainnet upgrade is March 19, 2025, at block height 29,186,000. Meanwhile, the Nyancat testnet was activated on March 4, 2025, and remains live until the mainnet launch.

Mainnet has requested developers, validators, wallets, explorers, node operators, and exchanges to come forward to check node operation, governance proposals, and modular features.
