Brazilian Stock Market Report

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumption, Real Estate, and Industrials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in São Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.38%.

Best Performers

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were:
Bradespar SA (BVMF:BRAP4): +3.92% or +0.77 points, trading at 20.43 at the close.
Vale SA (BVMF:VALE3): +3.83% or +2.35 points, ending at 63.77.
Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:CSNA3): +3.69% or +0.44 points, trading at 12.36 in late trade.

Worst Performers

The worst performers of the session were:
Pet Center Comercio e Participacoes (BVMF:PETZ3): -10.77% or -0.63 points, trading at 5.22 at the close.
Totvs SA (BVMF:TOTS3): -7.82% or -2.66 points, ending at 31.34.
Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3): -7.21% or -0.16 points, down to 2.06.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 554 to 398 with 37 ending unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil ETF Volatility, which measures implied volatility of Bovespa options, decreased by 15.72% to 31.52.

Commodities Trading

  • Gold Futures for December delivery rose 1.46% or 38.95 to $2,715.25 a troy ounce.
  • Crude oil for December delivery increased 0.66% or 0.47 to $72.16 a barrel.
  • US December coffee C contract jumped 4.00% or 9.95 to $258.70.

Currency Updates

  • USD/BRL remained unchanged at 5.68.
  • EUR/BRL rose 0.60% to 6.13.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.73% at 104.22.
