Bitwise Launches Bitcoin & Gold ETP

Asset manager Bitwise has unveiled an exchange-traded product (ETP) that tracks both bitcoin (BTC) and gold.

The Bitwise Diaman Bitcoin & Gold ETP (BTCG) commenced trading on Euronext Paris and Amsterdam on Thursday. This ETP replicates the Diaman Bitcoin and Gold Index.

The index dynamically reallocates value between BTC and gold based on the risk-adjusted performance of bitcoin, capitalizing on cyclical trends between risk-on and risk-off behavior in financial markets.

While bitcoin is often likened to digital gold, it usually correlates more closely with risk assets like technology stocks rather than with gold itself.

For instance, in February, gold reached record highs amid concerns about U.S. President Trump’s tariff plans, whereas BTC fell nearly 17%.
