BitGo and Republic Partner to Expand Access to Alternative Investments
Digital asset solutions provider BitGo and New York-based investment platform Republic are collaborating to democratize access to alternative investment opportunities.
The partnership aims to offer individual investors access to investment products that are traditionally reserved for institutional and high-net-worth investors, according to a press release from the companies.
Republic will utilize BitGo’s infrastructure to enhance its blockchain-powered investment ecosystem, facilitating private market investments on-chain for ordinary investors. This includes the addition of the Hamilton Lane Private Infrastructure Fund to its platform.
By tokenizing HLPIF, Republic is providing on-chain access to an asset class that was previously limited to traditional investors. More tokenized offerings are expected in the future.
> “Bringing the needed infrastructure to Republic in order to offer its investors access to never-before reachable assets is what BitGo is all about,” said Mike Belshe, CEO and co-founder of BitGo.

> “BitGo is most known for custodying digital assets, but our infrastructure is also able to power regulated securities, whether tokenized on-chain or on pieces of paper off-chain.”
With financial markets increasingly moving on-chain, BitGo is positioning itself to be “the backbone of that transition,” added Belshe.
Best known for its crypto custody, wallet services, staking, and trading solutions, BitGo was founded in 2013 and has become one of the largest players in the digital asset space.
In recent months, BitGo has expanded its reach by partnering with major industry and mainstream financial providers. In December 2024, it launched a retail-focused platform to extend its services beyond institutional clients.
The firm further increased its market footprint with the unveiling of a global over-the-counter (OTC) crypto trading desk announced in February 2025, which offers access to spot and derivatives trading.
BitGo is reportedly one of the crypto companies considering a public listing.
