Mexico Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Financial Services, and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 1.33%.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were:
- Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB): +5.18% or 7.83 points to trade at 158.28.
- Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB): +5.07% or 16.97 points to end at 352.76.
- Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GMEXICOB): +2.77% or 2.74 points to 101.26 in late trade.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session were:
- Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL): -1.58% or 2.70 points to trade at 168.60.
- Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO): -1.53% or 0.50 points to end at 32.17.
- Alsea, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA): -1.39% or 0.79 points to 56.04.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 188 to 65, and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.07% or 16.97 to 352.76.
Commodities Update
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.66% or 16.80 to $2,554.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading:
– Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.01% or 1.50 to hit $76.02 a barrel.
– November Brent oil contract fell 0.22% or 0.17 to trade at $78.75 a barrel.
Currency Update
- USD/MXN was up 0.08% to 19.85.
- EUR/MXN rose 0.03% to 21.99.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 101.30.
