Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household, and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.42%.

Best Performers

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were:
Austriacard Holdings AG (AT:ACAGr): rose 4.26% or 0.23 points to trade at 5.63 at the close.
Interlife General Insurance Company SA (AT:INLIFr): added 4.05% or 0.18 points to end at 4.62.
Petros Petropoulos SA (AT:PTRr): up 3.99% or 0.32 points to 8.34 in late trade.

Worst Performers

The worst performers of the session were:
Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr): fell 3.39% or 0.07 points to trade at 1.85 at the close.
Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr): declined 2.65% or 0.03 points to end at 1.18.
Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr): down 2.12% or 0.01 points to 0.32.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 72 to 47 and 21 ended unchanged.

Commodity Prices

  • Gold Futures for February delivery were up 0.93% or 25.01 to $2,710.81 a troy ounce.
  • In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery rose 0.70% or 0.48 to hit $68.85 a barrel.
  • The February Brent oil contract rose 0.50% or 0.36 to trade at $72.50 a barrel.

Currency Exchange Rates

  • EUR/USD was down 0.49% to 1.05.
  • EUR/GBP was unchanged at 0.33% to 0.82.
  • The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 106.32.
