Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop told The Block the municipal pension fund is investing in bitcoin ETFs as an “inflation hedge.” Fulop, a gubernatorial candidate, is not alone as a politician in leaning into bitcoin to counter the rising cost of living. The mayor of the Garden State’s second-largest city said that extensive conversations would have to happen before the city invested in Ethereum ETFs or bitcoin outright.
