Samuel Howe Leaves Zodia Custody
Samuel Howe, Zodia Custody’s Chief Operating Officer, has departed the London-based company for a position in traditional finance (TradFi), as confirmed by the company.
Howe had been with Zodia Custody as COO for three months, according to his LinkedIn profile. Before that role, he was the head of operations at the crypto custodian.
CEO Julian Sawyer remarked in an email, “Sam has left the company to go back to traditional finance; this shows the oscillation of roles and skills between crypto and TradFi.” Sam Hill, who has been with the company for the last 18 months, will replace Howe.
Howe did not respond to a request for comment by publication time.
Prior to his tenure at Zodia Custody, Howe was the head of crypto operations at hedge fund GSA Capital and previously held the position of head of capital markets operations at asset manager CoinShares (CS). He has also worked with banking giant HSBC and Kleinwort Hambros before transitioning to the crypto industry.
In 2020, Howe co-founded a private crypto hedge fund, which he continues to advise on.
Zodia Custody is backed by Standard Chartered Bank (STAN), SBI Group, Northern Trust, and National Australia Bank (NAB).
