Hacking of Zach Witkoff’s X Account

The X account of Zach Witkoff, co-founder of the Trump-linked crypto project World Liberty Financial, was hacked on Wednesday.

The hacker promoted a memecoin project related to President Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron, claiming that “Trump should confirm the news soon,” according to social media posts. However, World Liberty Financial confirmed that Witkoff’s account had been compromised.

World Liberty Financial stated that it is addressing the problem as quickly as possible and urged users not to engage with the fake Barron Trump project.

Barron is not the only member of the Trump family to be the subject of a fake memecoin project. On January 23, Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka warned users about a memecoin project using her likeness without her knowledge, stating that the project defrauded investors out of their “hard-earned money,” as previously reported by The Block.

World Liberty Financial is a decentralized finance project with Donald Trump and members of his family, including Barron Trump, listed as the project’s team members. World Liberty Financial launched its own token called WLFI in October 2024.
