WonderFi Explores Derivatives Trading Partnerships
WonderFi is considering partnerships to introduce derivatives trading on its platforms, Bitbuy and Coinsquare, in Canada and Australia.
Vancouver-based WonderFi Technologies Inc. announced a potential partnership with Australian broker Eightcap and its trading-as-a-service solution, Embedded, enabling Bitbuy and Coinsquare users to access derivatives products, including foreign exchange, indices, oil, metals, and select stocks.
These offerings will be structured as contracts for difference (CFDs), allowing users to speculate on price movements without owning the underlying assets. Eightcap will supply trading technology and liquidity for both platforms.
CEO Dean Skurka stated that this collaboration represents a significant advancement, providing users broader access to global financial markets within familiar ecosystems. The rollout for these new products is projected for late 2025, pending final agreements and regulatory approvals.
In May 2024, WonderFi announced the consolidation of its trading platforms, Coinsquare and Bitbuy, thereby becoming the largest crypto trading platform in Canada, regulated by the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization.
