Warner Bros Discovery Executive Team Announcement
(Reuters) – Warner Bros Discovery (NASDAQ:WBD) on Wednesday named key members of the executive team for its U.S. Networks business, which will be headed by Channing Dungey, chairman and CEO of Warner Bros Television Group.
Dungey, who previously held the role of president of ABC Entertainment and vice president of original series at Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) from 2018 to 2020, was appointed to lead the unit in August after the retirement of former head Kathleen Finch.
Brett Paul has been named chief operating officer for U.S. Networks, responsible for implementing Dungey’s vision and overseeing business affairs and digital strategy.
Howard Lee has been promoted to chief creative officer, leading content strategy across Warner Bros Discovery's linear networks, streaming service Max, and global licensing and partnerships. He will continue as president and head of content for TLC and Discovery.
Susan Kolar is appointed as chief financial & strategy officer for U.S. Networks, reporting to Warner Bros Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels.
Dungey will also retain her role as head of the television unit.
These appointments follow Warner Bros Discovery's decision to separate its declining cable TV businesses from streaming and studio operations, potentially paving the way for a sale or spinoff of its TV division as cable subscriber numbers continue to drop.
