Frontier Airlines Introduces First-Class Style Seating
(Reuters) – U.S. budget carrier Frontier Airlines announced on Tuesday that it will begin offering first-class style seating to attract passengers willing to spend more.
Previously, Frontier added additional seats with extra leg room and introduced business fares aimed at small companies. In August, Spirit Airlines began offering intra-Europe style business class seats that guarantee a blocked middle seat, while Southwest Airlines announced in July plans to provide premium seats with extra leg room and discontinue its open seating arrangement.
Frontier CEO Barry Biffle stated that the airline aims to roll out first-class seating on all flights by late 2025, pending regulatory approval. "There's a percentage of our customers willing to pay more for comfort," Biffle told Reuters, adding that these customers are affluent leisure travelers seeking a first-class experience.
