BlackRock's Acquisition of Preqin Under Review
(Reuters) – Britain's competition regulator announced on Tuesday that it is evaluating whether BlackRock (NYSE:BLK)'s acquisition of UK data firm Preqin for £2.55 billion ($3.23 billion) may raise competition concerns in the local market.
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has not yet initiated a formal investigation into the deal, which was announced in June. The CMA is inviting interested parties to express their views regarding the potential impact of the acquisition on competition in the UK market.
