Turkey stocks lower at close of trade; BIST 100 down 3.62%

    Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, with losses in the Banking, Financials, and Holdings & Investments sectors leading shares down.

    At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 3.62%, hitting a new six-month low.

    Best Performers

    The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 included:
    Papilon Savunma Guvenlik Sistemleri (IS:PAPIL): rose 9.99% (7.20 points) to trade at 79.30 at the close.
    Altinay Savunma Teknolojileri AS (IS:ALTNY): added 4.45% (4.05 points) to end at 95.00.
    Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL): was up 3.58% (0.78 points) to 22.56 in late trade.

    Worst Performers

    The worst performers of the session included:
    Adel Kalemcilik Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:ADEL): fell 8.65% (3.20 points) to trade at 33.80.
    Akbank TAS (IS:AKBNK): declined 8.33% (4.80 points) to end at 52.85.
    Alfa Solar Enerji AS (IS:ALFAS): down 7.41% (4.10 points) to 51.20.

    Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 511 to 58, with 10 ending unchanged.

    Shares in Alfa Solar Enerji AS (IS:ALFAS) fell to 52-week lows, losing 7.41% (4.10) to 51.20.

    Commodities

    • Gold Futures for December delivery were down 0.73% (19.75) to $2,670.55 a troy ounce.
    • Crude Oil for November delivery rose 0.80% (0.56) to $70.39 a barrel.
    • Brent Oil for December rose 0.71% (0.52) to trade at $74.08 a barrel.

    Currency Exchange

    • USD/TRY was up 0.03% to 34.22.
    • EUR/TRY fell 0.10% to 37.78.
    • The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 101.36.
