Meeting with Drugmakers
(Reuters) – President-elect Donald Trump met with top executives from U.S. drugmakers Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) and Eli Lilly (NYSE:LLY), along with the industry group PhRMA, on Wednesday night, according to an Axios report.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an anti-vaccine activist and Trump's selection for the head of the United States' top health agency, was also present.
A PhRMA spokesperson confirmed the attendance of its president and CEO, Stephen Ubl, but did not provide further details.
Both Eli Lilly and Pfizer did not immediately respond to Reuters’ inquiries.
During the meeting, held at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort, the discussion focused on how public and private sectors can collaborate to find cancer cures, among other topics.
Trump’s incoming chief of staff, Susie Wiles, was also in attendance.
