The price of TON has surged more than 20% over the last 24 hours, now trading above $3.45 with an $8.14 billion market capitalization, following French authorities returning Pavel Durov’s passport.
This development allows Durov to travel freely and concludes a situation that raised concerns among privacy and free speech advocates. Durov, co-founder of Telegram— a messaging platform with nearly a billion users— has consistently championed privacy and secure communication.

The TON Foundation, which supports the Telegram Open Network (TON), celebrated this moment on social media, stating, “As part of the decentralized TON community, we have stood in solidarity with Pavel, supporting his unwavering dedication to defending the right to free speech and privacy online.”
Additionally, TON has benefitted from new features in the Telegram Wallet app, including multiple assets, a yield program, and an updated user interface.
