Tesla's Sales in China
BEIJING (Reuters) – U.S. automaker Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) sold 21,900 electric vehicles in China during the first week of December, marking the highest weekly sales in the fourth quarter of 2024, as reported by Tesla China on Wednesday.
This rare weekly sales disclosure follows Tesla's best month in the Chinese market this year, with total sales exceeding 73,000 in November.
Tesla's Model Y has been the best-selling passenger vehicle in China over the past year, achieving sales of 556,000 units.
In response to increased competition, particularly from BYD's cost-cutting measures, the U.S. EV giant has ramped up its China incentives for the year-end, offering a time-limited 10,000 yuan ($1,375.89) discount on outstanding loans for the Model Y.
