Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.16% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 9.95% or 2.00 points to trade at 22.10 at the close. Meanwhile, RichWave Technology Corp (TW:4968) added 9.90% or 19.00 points to end at 211.00 and Grand Ocean Retail Group Ltd (TW:5907) was up 9.87% or 1.10 points to 12.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lead Data Inc (TW:2443), which fell 9.85% or 0.39 points to trade at 3.57 at the close. Chung Fu Tex-International Corp (TW:1435) declined 4.08% or 1.70 points to end at 39.95 and Parpro Corp (TW:4916) was down 3.24% or 1.10 points to 32.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 9.95% or 2.00 to 22.10.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.66% or 0.45 to $68.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.65% or 0.47 to hit $72.31 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 1.31% or 35.01 to trade at $2,645.99 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.51% to 32.62, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 106.29.
