Taiwan Stock Market Update

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, driven by gains in the Plastic, Machinery, and Electronic Products Distribution sectors.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.82%.

• Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101): rose 350.24% (+7.39 points) to trade at 9.50.
• King Slide Works Co Ltd (TW:2059): added 10.00% (+130.00 points) to end at 1,430.00.
• Foxconn Technology Co Ltd (TW:2354): up 9.98% (+8.70 points) to 95.90.

Worst Performers

• ALi Corp (TW:3041): fell 39.85% (-13.08 points) to trade at 19.75.
• Chien Kuo Construction Co Ltd (TW:5515): declined 20.18% (-5.54 points) to end at 21.90.
• GeoVision Inc (TW:3356): down 10.86% (-7.56 points) to 62.10.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.

Shares in Arima Communications Corp rose to a 3-year high, and Foxconn Technology Co Ltd reached a 5-year high.

Commodity Prices

• Crude oil for December delivery fell 0.66% (-0.48) to $71.88 a barrel.
• Brent oil for January delivery dropped 0.54% (-0.41) to $75.22.
• December Gold Futures decreased 0.18% (-4.90) to $2,700.90 a troy ounce.

Currency Exchange

• USD/TWD: down 0.13% to 32.06.
• TWD/CNY: unchanged at 0.22.
• The US Dollar Index Futures remained unchanged at 104.37.
