Spain Stock Market Overview
Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Consumer Services and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.72%.
Best and Worst Performers
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were:
– Ferrovial (BME:FER): rose 0.59% or 0.22 points, trading at 37.54 at the close.
– Bankinter (BME:BKT): added 0.53% or 0.04 points, ending at 7.53.
– Mapfre (BME:MAP): was up 0.50% or 0.01 points, reaching 2.43.
The worst performers were:
– Acciona (BME:ANA): fell 4.51% or 5.60 points, trading at 118.50.
– Redeia Corporacion SA (BME:REDE): declined 3.87% or 0.67 points, ending at 16.65.
– Endesa SA (BME:ELE): was down 3.54% or 0.69 points, trading at 18.68.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 129 to 48, with 34 ending unchanged.
Shares in Mapfre (BME:MAP) rose to 3-year highs, up 0.50% or 0.01 to 2.43.
Commodities Update
- Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.65% or 17.10, trading at $2,643.10 a troy ounce.
- Crude oil for November delivery rose 3.06% or 2.24, hitting $75.48 a barrel.
- Brent oil contract for December rose 3.09% or 2.37, trading at $78.95 a barrel.
Currency Exchange Rates
- EUR/USD was unchanged at 1.09.
- EUR/GBP was unchanged at 0.84.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 102.73.
