Spain Stocks Close Lower
Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.39%.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were:
– Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE): +2.82% or 0.55 points to 20.06
– Fluidra (BME:FLUI): +2.55% or 0.64 points to 25.76
– Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (BME:COL): +1.86% or 0.10 points to 5.47
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session were:
– Puig Brands SA (BME:PUIGb): -3.51% or 0.69 points to 18.99
– Mapfre (BME:MAP): -1.65% or 0.04 points to 2.51
– Grifols SA (BME:GRLS): -1.21% or 0.11 points to 8.63
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 114 to 67, with 28 ending unchanged.
Shares in Fluidra (BME:FLUI) rose to 52-week highs, gaining 2.55% or 0.64 to 25.76.
Commodities Update
- Gold Futures for February delivery were up 0.48% or 12.61 to $2,661.01 a troy ounce.
- Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.24% or 0.85 to hit $67.45 a barrel.
- February Brent oil contract fell 1.08% or 0.78 to trade at $71.31 a barrel.
Currency Update
- EUR/USD was unchanged at 0.26% to 1.06.
- EUR/GBP unchanged at 0.07% to 0.83.
- US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 105.99.
