Travala Integrates with Skyscanner

Blockchain-based platform Travala has integrated its inventory of over 2.2 million hotels across 230 countries into the global travel marketplace Skyscanner, enabling bookings in over 100 cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin, ether, BNB, and its native token, AVA.

Travala is the first crypto-native platform to be featured on Skyscanner, making it available alongside leading travel agencies like Expedia, Booking.com, and Agoda, which collectively cater to around 110 million monthly users making 80 billion searches daily.

Travala anticipates an increase in traffic from the integration and aims to highlight the advantages of booking travel using digital assets.

Travala’s Crypto Journey

Travala’s mission is to provide a decentralized and transparent travel booking experience by utilizing blockchain technology for booking flights, hotels, and accommodations using various cryptocurrencies.

Initially launched on the Neo blockchain in 2017, Travala migrated to BNB Chain in 2020 to take advantage of better scalability, reduced fees, and greater adoption as part of a strategy to expand its reach within the crypto and decentralized finance ecosystems. Travala’s token, AVA, is available on both BNB Chain and Ethereum.

After the integration, Skyscanner users who choose a hotel from Travala’s inventory will be redirected to Travala to finalize their bookings and can earn rewards through its AVA Smart Program, which may include incentives like discounts and up to 10% back in bitcoin, alongside other web3 travel rewards.
