Size Credit is the first fixed-rate primitive designed to address fractured liquidity, utilizing a unique yield curve order book model that allows users to customize loan terms across any tenor.

According to the team, fixed-rate lending represents the world’s largest financial market, but it has struggled to adapt within the DeFi space until now.

For the first time, DeFi users have the ability to set their own rates and durations while earning an Aave variable rate on unmatched offers. This advances both risk mitigation from market fluctuations for sophisticated investors and provides the flexibility and scalability that institutional players have long desired from DeFi.

The protocol will launch on August 7, 2024, at 10 AM ET on Base, an Ethereum L2 managed by Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN). The launch is underpinned by a security-first approach, validated through three independent audits from Spearbit, Solidified, and a $200,000 Code4rena competition.

Fixed terms, fundamental to traditional finance (TradFi), facilitate a variety of derivatives and structured products.

Summary

  • Protocol launch follows two years of R&D.
  • Size Credit signifies a shift in DeFi fixed-rate lending towards scalability for institutions.
  • Unique order book model notably enhances liquidity efficiency across maturity periods.
  • Users can now define their own yield curves for trading.
  • Users additionally earn an Aave rate on unmatched offers.
