Russia Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms, and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index fell 0.59%.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were:
– PhosAgro PJSC (MCX:PHOR): Up 2.01% or 109.00 points to trade at 5,542.00.
– Polyus PJSC (MCX:PLZL): Up 1.43% or 205.50 points to end at 14,571.00.
– TKS Holding MKPAO (MCX:TCSG): Up 1.43% or 37.20 points to 2,640.80 in late trade.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session were:
– Transneft PJSC Pref (MCX:TRNF_p): Down 9.01% or 121.00 points to trade at 1,223.00.
– VK Company Ltd (MCX:VKCO): Declined 3.41% or 10.80 points to end at 305.60.
– Rostelekom PJSC (MCX:RTKM): Down 3.37% or 2.16 points to 62.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 191 to 57, with 7 ending unchanged.
Shares in Transneft PJSC Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.01% or 121.00 to 1,223.00.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 3.82% to 38.03.
Commodities Trading
- Gold Futures for December delivery were up 1.76% or 45.30 to $2,615.40 a troy ounce.
- Crude oil for January rose 3.53% or 2.36 to hit $69.28 a barrel.
- The January Brent oil contract rose 3.35% or 2.38 to trade at $73.42 a barrel.
Currency Exchange Rates
- USD/RUB was down 0.27% to 99.75.
- EUR/RUB rose 0.37% to 105.71.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 106.14.
