Russian Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Russian stocks climbed after the market closed on Tuesday, buoyed by gains in the Mining, Oil & Gas, and Power sectors.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index increased by 0.92%.
Best Performers
The top performers on the MOEX Russia Index were:
– MMC Norilsk Nickel PJSC (MCX:GMKN) – up 3.37% (3.40 points) to 104.20.
– Novolipetsk Steel (MCX:NLMK) – up 3.20% (3.90 points) to 125.70.
– Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX:CBOM) – up 2.85% (0.17 points) to 6.17.
Worst Performers
The laggards of the session included:
– Aeroflot PJSC (MCX:AFLT) – down 1.21% (0.68 points) to 55.31.
– IPJSC Yandex (MCX:YDEX) – down 1.06% (39.00 points) to 3,644.50.
– OK Rusal MKPAO (MCX:RUAL) – down 0.88% (0.32 points) to 35.58.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 151 to 88, with 17 stocks ending unchanged.
Volatility and Commodities
The Russian Volatility Index (RVI), reflecting implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, rose 0.40% to 39.90.
Gold Futures for December delivery increased by 0.25% (6.95) to $2,753.15 a troy ounce. In commodities trading:
– Crude Oil for December delivery rose 0.98% (0.70) to $72.17 a barrel.
– January Brent oil contract increased 0.77% (0.58) to $75.66 a barrel.
Currency Updates
USD/RUB fell 1.21% to 97.80, while EUR/RUB decreased 0.78% to 106.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 103.36.
