Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining, Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index added 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were PhosAgro PJSC (MCX:PHOR), which rose 4.46% or 249.00 points to trade at 5,833.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Moskovskaya Birzha PJSC (MCX:MOEX) added 3.72% or 6.88 points to end at 191.76 and OK Rusal MKPAO (MCX:RUAL) was up 3.53% or 1.23 points to 35.89 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aeroflot PJSC (MCX:AFLT), which fell 3.14% or 1.64 points to trade at 50.51 at the close. PIK SHb PJSC (MCX:PIKK) declined 2.17% or 9.10 points to end at 410.30 and Mobil’nye Telesistemy PJSC (MCX:MTSS) was down 2.15% or 3.90 points to 177.75.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 184 to 65 and 6 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 1.41% to 48.39.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.76% or 20.39 to $2,660.61 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.25% or 0.17 to hit $68.17 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.13% or 0.09 to trade at $71.93 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.70% to 106.49, while EUR/RUB fell 1.31% to 111.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 106.38.
