Portugal Stocks Rise
Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, led by gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services, and Consumer Goods sectors.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.49%.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the PSI were:
– EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR): +2.85% (0.41 points) to 14.79 at the close.
– EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP): +1.84% (0.07 points) to 3.87.
– CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT): +1.47% (0.07 points) to 4.48 in late trade.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session were:
– Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA): -8.46% (0.26 points) to 2.79 at the close.
– Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT): -1.18% (0.20 points) to 16.75.
– Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA): -0.66% (0.06 points) to 8.98.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 10 and 9 ended unchanged.
Commodities and Currencies
Brent oil for November delivery was down 0.79% (0.58) to $73.17 a barrel. In commodities trading:
– Crude oil for October fell 0.88% (0.62) to $69.72 a barrel.
– December Gold Futures rose 0.09% (2.20) to $2,525.20 a troy ounce.
The currency market saw the EUR/USD unchanged 0.33% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP was unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 101.33.
