Ford SUVs and Pickup Trucks Investigation Closed
(Reuters) – The U.S. safety regulator announced on Monday the closure of a probe involving an estimated 411,315 Ford (NYSE:F) SUVs and pickup trucks concerning a loss of motive power.
In 2022, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) initiated an investigation into specific Ford Bronco vehicles with 2.7L EcoBoost engines due to concerns regarding a faulty valvetrain.
The investigation was later expanded to encompass additional models, including the Edge, F-150, and Explorer, which are equipped with the same motor.
Earlier this year, Ford submitted a recall request to test the affected vehicles and assess the need for a motor replacement.
Additionally, Ford announced it would offer extended warranty coverage on these vehicles for up to 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first.
