Netherlands Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Dutch stocks closed higher on Wednesday, led by gains in the Technology, Healthcare, and Oil & Gas sectors.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX index gained 0.34%.
Best Performers
- ASM International NV (AS:ASMI): rose 4.60% (+25.40 points) to trade at 577.00.
- BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI): increased 2.37% (+3.05 points) closing at 131.55.
- ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML): up 1.98% (+13.90 points) to 717.30.
Worst Performers
- Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO): dropped 1.34% (-0.76 points) to 56.12.
- Prosus (AS:PRX): declined 1.07% (-0.43 points) to 39.92.
- DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR): fell 1.03% (-1.03 points) to 99.02.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 51 to 49, with 13 ending unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, remained unchanged at 21.09.
Commodities Update
- Crude oil for January delivery increased 0.63% (+0.44) to $70.52 per barrel.
- Brent oil for February rose 1.01% (+0.74) to $73.93 a barrel.
- February Gold Futures contract fell 0.39% (-10.29) to $2,651.71 per troy ounce.
Currency Update
- EUR/USD remained unchanged at 1.05.
- EUR/GBP unchanged at 0.82.
- The US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.18% to 106.86.
