Investigation Launched into Google by Missouri AG

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Missouri's Republican Attorney General Andrew Bailey announced on Thursday that he is initiating an investigation into Google over claims of censoring conservative speech.
Importance of the Investigation
Republicans have consistently argued that social media platforms exhibit an anti-conservative bias, a claim tech companies have denied.
Google has yet to respond to inquiries regarding this investigation.
Political Context
In a competitive race for the upcoming presidential election on November 5 against Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris, Republican candidate Donald Trump indicated last month he would pursue legal actions against Google if elected. Trump's supporters claim, without evidence, that Google’s search results favor negative stories about him.

> "I am launching an investigation into Google – the biggest search engine in America – for censoring conservative speech during the most consequential election in our nation’s history," Bailey stated on the social media platform X. His post did not provide examples or evidence to support the censorship allegations.
