Mexico Stock Market Overview
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services, and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.84%.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were:
– Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA): rose 2.00% or 0.28 points to trade at 14.27 at the close.
– Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV:WALMEX): added 0.75% or 0.45 points to end at 60.48.
– Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA): up 0.72% or 0.18 points to 25.21 in late trade.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session were:
– Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q): fell 4.38% or 6.57 points to trade at 143.41.
– Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO): declined 2.84% or 1.18 points to end at 40.35.
– Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA): down 2.83% or 3.50 points to 120.02.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 128 to 102 and 18 ended unchanged.
Commodity Market
- Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.88% or 24.20 to $2,763.10 a troy ounce.
- Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.81% or 1.27 to hit $71.31 a barrel.
- The December Brent oil contract fell 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $75.54 a barrel.
Currency Market
- USD/MXN was unchanged at 19.95.
- EUR/MXN fell 0.07% to 21.54.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 103.89.
