Mexico Stock Market Update

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.29%.

Best Performers

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were:
Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA): +2.26% or +0.33 points to trade at 14.90.
GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC): +1.73% or +3.17 points to end at 186.14.
Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB): +1.37% or +4.99 points to 368.36.

Worst Performers

The worst performers of the session were:
Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA): -3.61% or -12.64 points to trade at 337.88.
Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA): -3.36% or -0.83 points to end at 23.89.
Kimberly – Clark De Mexico A (BMV:KIMBERA): -3.02% or -0.89 points to 28.60.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 113 to 98, with 13 ending unchanged.

Commodity Prices

  • Gold Futures for February delivery: -0.62% or -16.49 to $2,628.61 a troy ounce.
  • Crude oil for delivery in February: +0.17% or +0.12 to hit $69.58 a barrel.
  • March Brent oil contract: +0.15% or +0.11 to trade at $72.67 a barrel.

Currency Exchange Rates

  • USD/MXN was up 0.76% to 20.20.
  • EUR/MXN rose 0.57% to 21.03.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 107.84.
