Mexico Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, driven by gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services, and Consumer Staples sectors.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 1.22%.
Top Performers
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were:
– Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA): rose 7.78% or 1.13 points to 15.66.
– Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB): added 6.02% or 20.90 points to end at 368.00.
– Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1): up 5.14% or 6.06 points to 124.00.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session included:
– Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO): fell 4.10% or 1.80 points to 42.07.
– Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO): declined 4.04% or 0.40 points to 9.50.
– America Movil SAB de CV M (BMV:AMXB): down 2.83% or 0.46 points to 15.77.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 123 to 117, with 23 ending unchanged.
Shares in Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. hit 52-week highs, gaining 7.78%. Conversely, shares in Banco Del Bajio reached 52-week lows, down 4.10%.
Commodity Prices
- Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.45% or 38.90 to $2,715.20 a troy ounce.
- Crude oil for December rose 0.56% or 0.40 to $72.09 a barrel.
- January Brent oil contract rose 0.71% or 0.53 to $75.45 a barrel.
Currency Exchange
- USD/MXN was down 1.31% to 19.82.
- EUR/MXN fell 0.70% to 21.41.
US Dollar Index
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.70% at 104.25.
