Mexico stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 1.01%

Mexico Stock Market Summary

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, driven by gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services, and Consumer Staples sectors.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 1.01%.

Best Performers

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were:
Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV:WALMEX), which rose 5.84% (3.29 points) to trade at 59.66.
Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) added 2.19% (3.58 points) to end at 167.22.
Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO) was up 0.10% (0.04 points) to 41.40 in late trade.

Worst Performers

The worst performers of the session were:
Arca Continental, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:AC) fell 3.80% (7.06 points) to 178.71.
Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO) declined 3.08% (0.30 points) to 9.44.
Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO) was down 3.31% (1.46 points) to 42.68.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 117 to 95, with 17 ending unchanged.

Shares in Banco Del Bajio SA reached 52-week lows, falling 3.31% (1.46) to 42.68.

Commodity Market

  • Gold Futures for December delivery rose 0.81% (21.20) to $2,647.20 a troy ounce.
  • Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.21% (2.35) to $75.59 a barrel.
  • The December Brent oil contract rose 3.20% (2.45) to $79.03 a barrel.

Currency Market

  • USD/MXN was up 0.04% to 19.46.
  • EUR/MXN fell 0.22% to 21.28.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 102.64.
