Mexico Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services, and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.98%.
Best Performers
- GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC): rose 4.84% (8.57 points) to trade at 185.51.
- Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q): added 4.16% (6.66 points) to end at 166.74.
- Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA): up 3.83% (0.61 points) to 16.55 in late trade.
Worst Performers
- Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA): fell 4.36% (12.53 points) to trade at 274.99.
- Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1): declined 3.78% (4.79 points) to end at 121.77.
- Grupo Financiero Inbursa, SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO): down 2.07% (1.01 points) to 47.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 124 to 118, with 11 ending unchanged.
Commodities Update
- Gold Futures for February delivery rose 0.23% (6.11) to $2,674.01 a troy ounce.
- Meanwhile, Crude oil for January delivery fell 1.86% (1.30) to $68.64 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract dropped 1.70% (1.25) to trade at $72.37 a barrel.
Currency Update
- USD/MXN was unchanged at 20.30.
- EUR/MXN fell 0.07% to 21.34.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was slightly up 0.01% at 106.35.
