Mercedes-Benz Q3 Sales Report
BERLIN (Reuters) – Mercedes-Benz (OTC:MBGAF) reported a slight decline in car sales during the third quarter, as weaker demand, especially in Asia, overshadowed improved product availability.
The company sold 503,600 cars, marking a 1% decrease compared to the same quarter last year. Of these sales, 42,500 were battery-electric vehicles, showing a 31% year-on-year drop.
In China, sales were particularly affected, decreasing by 13% to 170,700 cars. This decline was attributed to lower demand for luxury goods and ongoing price reductions, as noted by Mercedes-Benz.
To enhance its offerings, the company plans to upgrade its product range in China this year with additional Intelligent Drive updates in the core segment.
