Unveiling a Major Cryptojacking Campaign
A cryptojacking campaign involving over 700,000 cryptocurrency addresses has been revealed by the cybersecurity company Ciberark.
About Massjacker
Massjacker is a cryptojacking tool that hijacks the clipboard of infected devices. It changes the cryptocurrency addresses within the clipboard, causing victims to deposit crypto into unintended addresses.
Financial Impact
Ciberark estimates that this malware has already resulted in over $300,000 stolen, primarily originating from pesktop.com, a site known for distributing pirated software.
Attribution
While Ciberark suspects that a single threat actor or group may be behind this campaign, they also acknowledge the possibility of multiple actors being linked to the activity.
