Magic Eden, Ubisoft, and Arbitrum Launch Web3 Gaming NFT Collection
NFT marketplace Magic Eden, video game development firm Ubisoft, and blockchain organization Arbitrum Foundation have collaborated to launch a Web3 gaming NFT collection on Arbitrum.
The collection consists of 10,000 NFTs based on Netflix's anime show Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E. This collaboration marks Arbitrum, the largest Ethereum Layer 2, as Magic Eden's newest supported blockchain.
Holding an NFT for the multiplayer shooter grants users access to rewards, content generation, and influence over governance decisions, as shared in a release with The Block.
"Through the integration of Web3, we’re empowering our community to not only play but shape the future of the game," said Ubisoft Web3 Executive Producer Didier Genevois in a statement. "It’s about creating a collaborative ecosystem where players’ decisions and creations directly impact the game’s evolution, making the experience truly their own."
Non-Ethereum Web3 gaming witnessed $494,000 in trading volume between Sept. 22 and Sept. 29, a significant decline compared to the multi-million dollar weekly volume earlier in the year, according to The Block's Data Dashboard.
