Japan’s Jobless Rate Declines

TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan’s jobless rate in August fell to 2.5% from 2.7% in July, according to government data released on Tuesday.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate compared favorably with economists’ median forecast of 2.6%.

Additionally, the jobs-to-applicants ratio in August declined to 1.23 from 1.24 in July, as reported by separate labour ministry data. The median forecast for this ratio was 1.24.
