Investigation into Edison's Gas Storage Sale
ROME (Reuters) – Italy's antitrust agency (AGCM) announced on Monday that it has opened an investigation into Edison's sale of its gas storage unit to the gas grid operator Snam.
The AGCM stated in its weekly bulletin that it would examine whether the transaction could significantly restrict competition by strengthening Snam's dominant position in the gas storage market.
In July, the two companies announced the deal for three gas storage sites, valued at up to 630 million euros ($656.52 million).
