Injective’s EVM Testnet Launches MultiVM Token Standard for Cross-VM Interoperability

Major Features

  • Unified MultiVM Token Standard for seamless cross-VM usage without bridging.
  • Developers can leverage familiar EVM tools while accessing Cosmos-native modules.

Recently, Injective has launched its EVM Testnet featuring the MultiVM Token Standard (MTS), allowing developers to utilize a single INJ token across EVM and Cosmos virtual machines without needing to manage bridges or wraps.

Deep Integration and High Performance

The MTS feature combines an ERC-20 module with a precompile bank, connecting seamlessly to the Cosmos bank module, ensuring token balances remain constant across VMs. Transactions, including transfers, burns, and mints, are managed by a dedicated precompile address, 0x64, underpinned by a robust technical framework.

Interestingly, the system maintains a high execution speed, capable of processing around 800 light transactions per second and 320 heavy transactions with a gas limit of 50 million per block. Utilizing the latest Geth engine, it is compatible with essential developer tools like MetaMask, Hardhat, Foundry, and Remix.

Injective also provides additional precompiles for Solidity contracts, facilitating access to staking, governance, and order book functionalities—helping developers build complex DeFi applications easily.

Robust Network Stability and Community Support

Injective’s network stability is noteworthy, having completed over two billion on-chain transactions with block completion times averaging 0.6 seconds and throughput surpassing 25,000 transactions per second (TPS). This performance positions Injective as a viable alternative for developers frustrated by traditional network limitations.

Moreover, they’ve integrated XRPL EVM, allowing XRP use in both Cosmos and EVM-based DeFi ecosystems, broadening the possibilities for cross-chain development.

On the community front, security audit provider Zellic has been spotlighted for its role in enhancing network security and governance, offering a 0% commission for new delegators as part of a rebate campaign running until the end of July.

Despite fluctuating market conditions, the price of the INJ token has shown an upward trend, currently around $10.82, reflecting a 3.79% increase over the week, suggesting positive market sentiment toward Injective’s advancements.
