India Stocks Close Lower
Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Monday, with losses in the Metals, Capital Goods, and Real Estate sectors leading shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 fell 0.64%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index declined 0.63%.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange with 1776 declines to 762 advances, while 147 remained unchanged. On the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2495 stocks fell compared to 1433 that advanced, with 143 unchanged.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 5.53% to 13.97.
In commodities, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.26% or 6.81 to $2,625.09 per troy ounce. Crude oil for delivery in February fell by 0.21% or 0.15 to $70.45 a barrel, and the March Brent oil contract fell 0.22% or 0.16 to $73.63 a barrel.
In currency exchanges, USD/INR was up 0.15% to 85.52, while EUR/INR fell 0.06% to 89.26. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 107.70.
