India Stock Market Update

Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Real Estate, Fast Moving Consumer Goods, and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.

At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 declined 0.21%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index fell 0.18%.

Market Overview

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1455 to 1002, and 18 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2177 rose and 1600 declined, while 98 ended unchanged.

Shares in ITC Ltd (BO:ITC) rose to all-time highs, gaining 0.97% (+4.90) to 511.55.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 1.10% to 14.22.

• Gold Futures for December delivery: +0.83% (+21.05) to $2,547.05 a troy ounce.
• Crude oil for delivery in October: +0.35% (+0.24) to $69.44 a barrel.
• November Brent oil contract: +0.52% (+0.38) to trade at $73.08 a barrel.

• EUR/INR: +0.12% to 93.18

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 101.15.
