Honda Recalls 780,000 Vehicles in North America

(Reuters) – Honda is recalling 780,000 vehicles in North America due to concerns that a high-pressure fuel pump may crack and leak fuel.
A fuel leak present near an ignition source could increase the risk of fire, the automaker informed the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The recall includes various Accord, CR-V Hybrid, and Civic vehicles manufactured from 2023 to 2025. Out of the recalled vehicles, 720,000 are in the United States, while about 61,000 are in Canada.
Dealers will inspect and replace the high-pressure fuel pump if necessary with an improved part. Honda stated that due to a defective high-pressure fuel pump core, cracks may form inside the fuel pump. These cracks can grow during driving, potentially leading to fuel leaks or a fuel smell while idling or driving.
Honda has received 145 warranty claims but reported no injuries related to this issue. On Tuesday, Honda confirmed the existence of a fuel leak and odor in September and halted shipment of the affected vehicles.
